Inspired by the process of casting aluminum, this chair makes use of the excess „scrap“ material that occurs when pouring into the mold channel. The joint thus serves both a functional purpose in assembling the wooden pieces and an ornamental and decorative one, showcasing the organic, „random“ blob. The burned wood highlights and embraces those, as a reference to the remaining burned oil sand of the mold.

Wood and aluminum, salvaged from a construction site and once without purpose, retain their intrinsic value and history as they enter into a dialogue that defines the essence of the furniture piece.
